Artist's Comments

Spoilers for Repo! The Genetic Opera I guess, Mag rips out her eyes.

This was primarily done for experimentation purposes when I got my 120 set of Prsimacolors but it escalated into something more grand.

Anyway, this is from Repo! The Genetic Opera (which I don't think was overly fantastic but one of the highlights was the character of Blind Mag, seen here).

I didn't use a reference so I didn't really care about making anything exact in either Sarah Brightman's likeness or the Blind Mag costume (which was particularly top heavy in the film, not good).

The gouged out eyes were a last minute addition, they were originally going to be white and have beams protruding out of them if I had the patience, I figured blood would be easier.

Done in colored pencil as always, bad quality scan.

Hmmm...I've never seen this. It sounds groovy though, and this drawing based on it is making me very, very interested. You did an excellent job with the shading in the skirt - all those blues & purples...veddy nice. And -wait a minute! Did you say you got 120 set of Prismacolors?!? You lucky dog! *pouts* Perhaps if I remain in this state long enough someone will try cheering me up with Prismacolor-anythings...

Eh, the movie was ok. There were some really off the wall scenes, and when there are scenes that seem off the wall in an already off the wall movie it's not the best thing. You can see this scene here if you want [link] it's one of the better parts as is Blind Mag's other main scene/song "Chase the Morning".

And yes indeed I got a 120 set. It helps having a wider selection. Less blending and mixing and making my fingers bleed from pressing to hard (ok that last part is still gonna happen)

-Well, I see the usual cast of misfits and dope addicts are here. -

Wow...actually that looked really interesting! I checked out a few more clips while I was there...Man, I need to update my Netflix with this :giggle: I'd never even heard of it before.

I can relate to the aching fingers. Usually I don't press down too hard, but for all those Xmas cards I did for the Newspacers this year...well, I wanted them to be nice & bold. And there were...12? of them. Owwwwwwww.

I saw them! They were really good. Better than anything I could do with watercolor, or any other kind of paint for that matter.

Maybe I'll do cards next year. Maybe at 17 my parents won't care if I send Christmas cards to people I talk to online

Yeah, I was always a pencil person too...but I decided it's high time I expand a little :giggle: And man...I was at the store today and saw that 120 Prismacolor set...I was DROOLING! And so tempted to get it, but...I don't have enough to spend on it :( I'll have to stick to my Crayolas for now.

Do they check who all of your mail comes from? I never had to deal with anything like that...Or you could do that other option that Teebs put up, where you can send cards, but no one knows your andress because you're underage. Kinda sucks though, since then you don't get any yourself. Are your parents weird about internet-friending? I know a lot of parents are...some pretty creepy people out there (I know, we take a lot of reports on them!).

Oh! And thanks!!

Your style is beautiful!
I love the way you made her outfit, too...
And how the eyes are added fit the picture perfectly :D
