I met Tim Burton on Wednesday...

Sat Nov 21, 2009, 10:40 AM
He did a book signing at the MoMA in NYC coupled with the Retrospective Exhibition of his life.

He was really nice, shook his hand, got "The Art of Tim Burton" signed (the book is amazing, I really suggest picking it up). I couldn't say much else to him, museum staff really pushed you along, but even if you were given more time with him, I had no idea what to say, ha.

I also got to see the Exhibition, it doesn't open to the public until a 22nd but I'm friends with a member and she was able to get me a pass to see it, it was fantastic. I suggest if you're ever anywhere near the city you go see it. The last room had a lot of props and costumes from the movies, they were as follows: The Edward Scissorhands costume, The Headless Horseman's cape, The Angora Sweater from Ed Wood, Catwoman's Suit, The Penguin's Black Baby Carriage, Three Batman Masks, the Scarecrow from the Beginning of Sleepy Hollow, Sarah Jessica Parker's Head from Mars Attacks, The Inflatable Striped Sleaves and "The Afterlife" Mock Newspaper from Beetlejuice, Sweeney Todd's Razors, Four of the Burnt Animatronic Dolls and Willy Wonka's head gear from Charlie and the Chocolate Factory and a lot of puppets from The Nightmare Before Christmas and Corpse Bride. And there were hundreds of original drawings and paintings as well as concept art done by other artists. I know a lot of people don't like hearing this, but seeing his artwork, I really do wish Burton would do a new movie direct from his imagination, not an adaptation, and that's coming from a fan.

Here are some pictures... No one got any of me and Tim together which is kind of lame. Whatever.
